Welcome to Thriving-Baby-Boomers – A Whole person approach to wellness
“Empowering others to take a balanced approach to their own health and wellness by focusing on all aspects of the whole person.’
“Focusing on the whole person to maximize health and wellness for life.”
I don’t hear much about Healing Touch anymore as I did back in the 80s and 90s.
From the official Healing Touch website, it describes healing touch as:
“Healing Touch is an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
Healing Touch is a biofield (magnetic field around the body) therapy that is an energy-based approach to health and healing.
Healing Touch uses the gift of touch to influence the human energy system, specifically the energy field that surrounds the body, and the energy centers that control the flow from the energy field to the physical body.
These non-invasive techniques employ the hands to clear, energize, and balance the human and environmental energy fields, thus affecting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It is based on a heart-centered, caring relationship in which the practitioner and client come together energetically to facilitate the client’s health and healing.
The goal of Healing Touch is to restore balance and harmonies in the energy system, placing the client in a position to self-heal.”
My Experiences with Healing Touch
I went for Healing Touch treatments off and on for a few years. Where I went for my sessions of healing touch was ‘by donation,’ so it was very affordable no matter what income level one had.
I always found a Healing Touch session very relaxing, and in some ways quite similar to Reiki which I will touch on later.
Whether you think ‘energy healing’ is all a bunch of hokum, there is a lot of scientific evidence that goes back several decades, even centuries that point to energy within and all around us. Think Nikola Tesla, quantum physics, or even going back to ancient wisdom teachings and theology or religion.
Disclaimer: Certain ideas about energy healing really resonate with me, but yet, when I tried them I didn’t get the results that others were getting, therefore I cannot and will not say that anyone modality is the end-all, be-all. (Please consult your own health care provider to find out what is best for you.)
I will explain to you my understanding and my practices, but I know from trial and error that what works for me may or may not work for you…
