Focusing on Pictures

In 2019, my daughter, along with her half-sister, inherited 11 acres to clean up stuff left behind after 40 years of inhabitancy by her great-uncle and her father. We spent at least one day a week for over seven months gathering trash and recyclables of metal, tires and dead vehicles to be hauled away. I don’t want to do the same to her at my passing, so I’m very aware and conscious of decluttering on an ongoing basis.

And now it’s time to focus on pictures…

As I posted before, I designate different days of the week for a variety of projects. Wednesday is picture-sorting-day. For one hour once a week, I spend time going through my photos on my laptop and phone. I label them and delete duplicates, out-of-focus and fuzzy images.

Do you have too many pictures from accidentally hitting the burst button on your camera? How about blurry pictures? What about mystery people and mystery locations?

What steps are you taking to leave the least amount of ‘stuff’ for the family and friends left behind when you move into a care facility or succumb to the final sleep?

Recommitting my Commitment

November 14, 2023

It’s been a while since I wrote or posted a blog post, so I’m setting an intention to post something at least once a week.

This week I want to talk about my various projects that I designate one day a week to each (again, it’s been my ‘intention’ – now time for action…)

I intend to set aside Sundays for Poetry Sunday and complete the self-publishing process of my upcoming poetry collection titled, Contemplations

Mondays are my day to do laundry and shopping, so no writing projects are scheduled for Mondays.

On Tuesdays I intend to continue working on my life story, tentatively titled, Know Thyself – Be Honest

On Wednesdays, I have an evening commitment, so I tend to conserve my energy throughout the day as Wednesday nights can be very ‘peopley’ for me with too much ‘energy’ around me.

On Thursdays, I will continue working on my book tentatively called The 8Cs of Relationships. So far, I’ve got about 50 or so pages started as well as an outline and Table of Contents.

Fridays, I have set aside to continue writing about my experience of declaring bankruptcy and learning the ins and outs of financial stewardship.

On Saturdays, I will continue writing and posting book reviews of various books I recommend from each section of my Thriving Baby Boomers website.

So, that’s it for now.  I hope you will ‘follow,’ ‘comment,’ ‘like’ and/or repost my posts

Linda
