Hi Everybody.

Just a little info about this Thriving-Baby-Boomers website, it is a collection of 150+ essays that I have written encompassing the complete spectrum of being human: physical, mental, emotional, financial, sexual, spiritual & relationships.

This is a work in progress that I’ve been building on since 2012. It’s been a labour of Love and I hope you will join me on the next phase of the journey of being a Baby-Boomer.

The Baby-Boomer generation was born between 1945 and 1964. I’m right smack in the middle, being born in 1956. This year, 2021, I officially became a Senior Citizen.

It’s my goal to make the Thriving-Baby-Boomers site a little more interactive by creating this blog.

It is my vision to develop a community for Baby-Boomers to share their life stories, hopes, dreams, memories of ‘the good times, and anything else you want to see to make this your community.

Although there are probably many sub-categories of Baby-Boomers, one group I’m most interested in because I identify with so many of their beliefs and values is the Cultural Creatives. This group was identified by sociologist Paul H. Ray and psychologist Sherry Ruth Anderson which I read about in their non-fiction book called, The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People Are Changing the World which is based on their research.

The Cultural Creatives

Wikipedia says that “The authors introduced the term “Cultural Creatives” to describe a large segment in Western society who since about 1985 has developed beyond the standard paradigm of modernists or progressives versus traditionalists or conservatives. Ray and Anderson claim to have found that 50 million adult Americans (slightly over one-quarter of the adult population) can now be identified as belonging to this group.” I remember as I was reading this book, I was exclaiming, YES!! over and over again through the entire book.

According to the Cultural Creatives website, “The Cultural Creatives care deeply about ecology and saving the planet, about relationships, peace, social justice, and about authenticity, self-actualization, spirituality and self-expression.  Contrary to media stereotypes about being either for personal development or activism, they are both inner-directed and socially concerned: they’re activists, volunteers and contributors to good causes more than other Americans.”

If you identify as a Baby-Boomer or a Cultural Creative, I’d love to hear from you!
