Book Review – I Need Your Love, Is That True?

Byron Katie’s book, I Need Your Love, Is That True? is more of a workbook than just something to read. One must ‘do’ the suggested exercises based on Ms. Katie’s world-renowned ‘The Work’ in order to reap the benefits of a life well-loved…

I Need Your Love – Is That True? by Byron Katie

Katie’s ‘The Work’ incorporates four questions in order to get to ‘the truth’ of one’s thoughts and beliefs. Her premise is that we create our own heaven or hell right here on earth by our thoughts.

The four questions are:

  1. Is it true?
  2. Can you absolutely know that it’s true?
  3. How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?
  4. Who would you be without the thought?

Katie then suggests one use ‘turn-arounds’ to come up with ‘better’ thoughts that relieve one’s stressful thinking..

I find Byron Katie’s book much easier to understand and implement than Michael A. Singer’s book, The Untethered Soul which actually has a lot in common with his book.

Good book – despite the frequent use of ‘sweetheart’… It felt like she used transcripts from her seminars for a great deal of the book.

I recommend it.
