Welcome to Thriving-Baby-Boomers – A Whole person approach to wellness
“Empowering others to take a balanced approach to their own health and wellness by focusing on all aspects of the whole person.’
“Focusing on the whole person to maximize health and wellness for life.”
Having not grown up with any spiritual or religious background I’ve pretty much searched on my own for some kind of spiritual understanding. My understanding over the last 30+ years has been gained by having spiritual or philosophical discussions with friends or by attending spiritual or philosophical presentations in the community, but mostly through books.
Understanding Through Discussion
I remember in the 80s having a couple of good friends with whom I could have amazing spiritual and philosophical discussion. We’d spend hours discussing the Mysteries of Life, politics, religion and spirituality. We would share books we had read. I remember reading and discussing theories about Life after Death, reincarnation, and whether if Jesus walked on water could anyone else.
Our main understanding was that IF one had enough faith they could walk on water. We agreed that we weren’t there yet – that we didn’t have enough faith to go down to the river and try it at that time. I still don’t think I have enough faith to do this today.
There are many examples of people surviving on very little food or liquid or wearing only shorts and running in super cold temperatures.
“Wim Hof, the ‘Ice Man,’ first caught the attention of scientists when he proved he was able to use meditation to stay submerged in ice for 1 hour and 53 minutes without his core body temperature changing. Since then, he’s climbed Mount Everest in his shorts, resisted altitude sickness, completed a marathon in the Namib Desert with no water and proven under a laboratory setting that he’s able to influence his autonomic nervous system and immune system at will. Almost everything Wim has done was previously thought to be impossible – but he’s not a freak of nature.”
Other interesting feats of the mind are Fire Walkers who don’t seem to get burned when they walk the hot coals. I have several friends who have done this. They all agree that it truly is mind over matter.

Understanding Through Books
There are many writers that point the way. From the bible and other holy books, to books like those written by Jerry and Ester Hicks whereby they’ve transcribed and published the messages from the channeled, non-physical entity, of Abraham. Ernest Holmes through his somewhat technical writings on the Science of Mind, to more recent writers like Wayne Dyer, James Twyman, Gregg Braden, and Shirley MacLaine all write with similar messages.
Just a little bit of what I’ve come to believe through these books is:
- We are created in the image and likeness of our Creator;
- All the qualities one attributes to God/Creator we have withIN ourSelves;
- Anything our Creator can do, we can do also;
- Life is Eternal;
- Our very breath is the same breath of Life that Adam and Eve first breathed;
- There are Laws that operate in All of Creation – Gravity, Science, Nature and Mind;
- Our thoughts/beliefs create our reality
It is the Law of Mind, or otherwise called The Law of Attraction that one uses to create their world/life/circumstances. Most people are totally oblivious to this Law but it works (just like gravity does) whether we believe in it or are conscious of it. It cannot be denied or defied. One always experiences the consequences of these Laws.
The Iceman, Wim has shown what the human body is capable of once you find the flow within your physical and mental state.
I believe we can change our reality by our thinking – it isn’t necessarily easy, but it can be done. With conscious, consistent effort of watching and correcting one’s thoughts one’s life will get better; most especially one will feel better with their changed thinking.
