Sex Drive
Sex drive for baby boomers can ebb and flow to some degree depending on lifestyle and health issues, but overall one’s libido is fairly static throughout one’s lifetime.
Because one’s basic nature in the level of sex drive is relatively unchangeable, sex drive is an area where there needs to be a high degree of compatibility. This is another area of compatibility that CyberSuitors says is an absolute necessity for both genders in order to ensure a happy marriage. Without a fairly equal level of desire in this area, both parties will eventually feel frustrated. The one with the low sex drive will begin to feel that their partner is a perverted sex maniac with sex on the brain 24/7, while the one with the higher sex drive will constantly feel frustrated that their sexual needs aren’t being met with love, respect and acceptance. I’ve never heard of a person with a low sex drive developing a high sex drive, nor have I ever heard of one with a high sex drive suddenly developing a low sex drive, except when illness or psychological problems get in the way.

According to WebMD, “study after study shows that men’s sex drives are not only stronger than women’s, but much more straightforward. The sources of women’s libidos, by contrast, are much harder to pin down.
It’s common wisdom that women place more value on emotional connection as a spark of sexual desire. But women also appear to be heavily influenced by social and cultural factors as well. “Sexual desire in women is extremely sensitive to environment and context,” says Edward O. Laumann, Ph.D. He is a professor of sociology at the University of Chicago and the lead author of a major survey of sexual practices, The Social Organization of Sexuality: Sexual Practices in the United States.”
In the above-mentioned article, they list seven patterns of men’s and women’s sex drives that researchers have discovered.
