Writing ‘I am so happy now that…’

This is one of the newest tools in my spiritual tool kit. The basic premise is that happiness is a choice no matter what one’s living conditions. I did not realize that happiness was a choice. I always thought that life and my happiness were based on the dictates and actions of others.

There are plenty of documented examples of horrible living conditions that did NOT break the soul of the survivor – Viktor Frankl’s autobiography, Man’s Search for Meaning, about his time in Nazi concentration comes to mind, The Diary of Anne Frank is another.

And, if we create our reality by our thoughts we may as well choose happy thoughts. The ‘I’m so happy now that…’ exercise is a written exercise where you write out as many statements as you want to itemize how you’d be happy ‘when’ your ideal life manifested… and choose the happy feeling before the item materializes. For ‘they’ say that is the key to the Law of Attraction – to feel the good feelings becomes the magnet to bring ‘it’ about.

I know that when I use affirmations and gratitude posts in conjunction with this “I am so happy…” process I can definitely feel the difference between my body and my home and social environment.

Today I believe the old quote that Abraham Lincoln said, ‘Most people are about as happy as they make up their mind to be.”

And today, I choose to be happy, grateful, and appreciative of all that I have in my life. I don’t have ‘it all.’ All that I would like in my life, but I do believe that what I focus on grows, and that one’s emotional vibration is what energetically attracts ‘stuff,’ and circumstances into one’s life.

I try to be conscious of what I’m attracting by choosing carefully what I say, do, and feel.
