Welcome to Thriving-Baby-Boomers – A Whole person approach to wellness
“Empowering others to take a balanced approach to their own health and wellness by focusing on all aspects of the whole person.’
“Focusing on the whole person to maximize health and wellness for life.”
In the book, Alcoholics Anonymous, from the chapter ‘To The Agnostics,’ it says, “…deep down in every man, woman and child, is the fundamental idea of God. It may be obscured by calamity, by pomp, by worship of other things, but in some form or other it is there. For faith in a Power greater than ourselves, and the miraculous demonstrations of that power in human lives, are facts as old as man himself.
We finally saw that faith in some kind of God was a part of our make-up, just as much as the feeling we have for a friend. Sometimes we had to search fearlessly, but He was there. He was as much a fact as we were. We found the Great Reality deep down withIN us. In the last analysis it is only there that He may be found…”
Even in the Bible, in John 4-24 it says, ‘God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.’
spir·it (spĭr′ĭt) n.
1. a. A force or principle believed to animate living beings
- b. A force or principle believed to animate humans and often to endure after departing from the body of a person at death; the soul.
4. b. The essential nature of a person or group.
When I write about ‘God,’ I am not writing about a he, or a she, or any entity to speak of.
In my search for ‘God,’ I’ve always turned to nature – specifically the stars in the dark, night sky. When I look up into that vastness, I am always in awe. Who/what created all this? I don’t know whether there was a ‘big bang’ that created all this, or some ‘God-force’ but I do believe there’s an ultimate ‘intelligence’ behind all of this. I see the cycles of nature and how all the grasses and flowers and trees grow without any help or interference from me. The same ease and divine intelligence seems to look after all the insects, birds, and animals also.

I also know that when I ask I can find some UN-limited inner strength to get through situations that I didn’t think possible; when I felt I had no strength or energy to move forward one more step whether through exhaustion or illness. That, to me, is the Spirit of God – UNlimited, withIN me. And within everyone. As close as one’s breath and consciousness.
My search for God has led me on a varied and eclectic spiritual journey. I don’t believe in following dogma. I believe that each person has their own spiritual quest to find meaning for themselves.
I take my inspiration and meaning from any and all sources. My journey has led me to study Buddhism, New Age, New Thought, and Taoism to name a few. I like the freedom to define ‘God as I understand God’ as espoused through the 12-Step way of life; where no one has any answers for anyone except themselves. I don’t have ‘the answer’ for you – I am just sharing my experience, strength and hope of the path I have journeyed. I hope you can find some inspiration or meaning for yourself through my writings.
